Those ladies in the Sundance port will go over it with you and you can ask for the route you want. They'll know if there are restrictions.

I've never personally run that road but it doesn't look too terrible. There's a couple switch back curves right next to each other that you will probably need both lanes on but you'll have f/r escorts at 14'W so you can take the whole road easily. If you look at those curves on Google maps satellite there's a pull out right by them with what looks like a sleeper truck and a 48' flat. Gives you a sense of scale for the curves showing they aren't really that sharp.

If the escort is from out there she probably has a good handle on what WY will do for your route. Also means that they must route OS trucks through there enough that she knows the route.

You could always ask the POE when you call. Looking at a map the better way would be Casper to Walcott on WY487 to US30 to I80. There's also Casper to Rawlins on WY220 to US287 to I80. Both of those keep you out in the sticks less and on open interstate longer.

Also as of a couple months ago there was a legal height and 11'W restriction in Green River, WY. Have to get off 80 and run through town for 3 miles. The height is always a restriction in the tunnel not sure if width is a permanent restriction or just because of construction.

    SAR and Oxbow Thank this.

That is right. In Wyoming you pick the route you want and they tell you if it will work or not. The ladies in Sundance are very helpful. I've done 16' wide through that same route before but again I don't know current width restrictions going on.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

It just occurred to me you might be coming in from Montana. If so you would go to the Sheridan POE.

Okay, great, then Sundance it is. I would think taking 16 would be way out of your way anyway.

    Oxbow and Razororange Thank this.

There is currently a few spots in WY on I80 that have 14 foot width restrictions for construction... Several bits of construction across the state on I80 but traffic flow hasn't been to bad the last ouple weeks when I have been through there.

    BoostedTeg and Oxbow Thank this.
