I feel investing in a good APU goes a long way to help the reliability of you engine. It virtually eliminates the need for long idle times, it extends the life of the batteries, reduces wear and tear on the engine and save a lot of fuel. Just set it on standby and relax.
    Good investment.

I just saw an International display LT at a Truck show that had a performance x15 with a wrapped exhaust. I don't know if that was a factory or dealer modification though. I kind of think factory.

Wrapped exhaust is factory. Dpf and scr have been insulated for a couple years now.

I haven't received the new truck yet but i added a turbo blanket to my Volvo D13 and it has noticeably improved the passive regen efficiency. Very interesting.

Pics I've seen of the new X15 emissions haven't had any blankets over the DPF or downpipe. Strange.

Was thinking of specing out a new truck next year if the market cools down a little. Was hoping these X15 motors were going to offer some hope for these newer emissions engines. I've been starting to have mixed feelings about a glider purchase. Guess I'll wait and listen to more feedback as it's still early in the game for them.

On a related note Cummins is recalling 500,000 engines due to faulty material being used in scr catalyst .. carb and epa tested used trucks with a rolling emissions test and they almost all failed.. I have to wonder how many owners changed nox sensors steady when it was a faulty design at fault instead

Cummins is good manufacturer not like Detroit. Detroit must replace all 1-boxex on pre 2014 trucks because all of them throw 4364/18 code. 90% of epa10 engines have faulty scr. Detroit instead of calling back ####ty 1-boxes raised the price tag.
