Ran the overhead on my new X-15 at 3000 miles.. #6 exhaust was .020".. .002" too tight for tight spec. That was the only one that was off.
NWAF, KB3MMX, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this. -
Old school still works . This run it till warranty is off before setting valves don’t work.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

It was so easy to check on this truck that we'll be doing it annually. Also gives us a good chance to visually check the cam wear.Dave_in_AZ and magoo68 Thank this.

The efficiency series has 18:1 compression and tendency to lift the head. Performance series has 16:1 compressionNWAF, KB3MMX and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

You cant down speed the motor that low. Shouldn't go below 1200. Motor cant stand the down speeding that low.
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I believe that after having the performance version, it didn't like being below 1400.
Unfortunately Cummins is trying to keep up with Detroit and Mack/Volvo and the X15 Doesn't seem to be built strong enough in the bottom end to handle downspeed Big TQ at low RPMs.
They advertise peak TQ at 1000 rpm on X15-E-500/1850Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
That's pretty low. Peak tourqe on my ISX is 1250. And it would just run terribly there.
1325 to 1400 it's very happy.jsnell Thanks this. -
