Think they will cough up for any nsf fees...?
Or does it charge nsf if the chk is cancelled?

The efficiency series has an 18.x:1 compression ratio and sounds like thats to high for them. The performance series has a 16.x:1 ratio and I just turned 50,000 miles on mine today with 0 issues.

Just purchased a 389 with the X15 performance. Is it okay to idle the engine overnight or??? Some people say to rev it to 1,000-1,200 rpms for idling. What's the consensus say?

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

If you gotta idle just idle at normal RPM that way the system will do its thing when regen is required. Otherwise when you set the cruise for a higher idle it cancels the auto regen. But its best to not idle them.

Try not to idle it at all. You probably have the same epa setting where it won't idle more than 5 min without cruise engaged. Need ecm password from cummins to unlock that one.

Idling is the best way to shorten a diesel engines life. Glazes the cylinder walls over. Go get more blowby. Get carbon packing on the rings. You should get or make your own apu if ac is an issue for sleeping. Lots of threads on home made apu setups. On a new truck I would buy the expensive thermo king unit though.

If you are hell bent to idle just set cruise and it should be pre programmed for probably 900-950 rpm. It will regen itself as necessary. Probably no way to know it's doing it other than you can hear the egr and turbo changing the sound. And if you go outside beside it it will be very hot.

My X15 and former ISX would not regen with the cruise set. We run pneumatic blowers so had to idle up to 1400 on my ISX and now 900 on X15. Auto regen's happen around 800rpm and if ether one was doing a regen when I got to a customer to unload setting the cruise to run the blower would interrupt the regen cycle but it would start backup when the cruise was kicked off.
