    Minor detail, but you have pointed to FMCSA Publication No:MC-P/PSV-04-001 that includes a summary of the regulations, you have not shown an actual regulation.

    I'm not aware of the regulation changing since 2006, none of the .gov websites show a change, and the green book I have does not show a change.

    according to your link, as written, it states that ALL tie downs now only get 50 percent of WLL, no matter the anchor point.

    That is correct abut an FMSCA publication isn't just opinion and it wouldn't be at all out of the realm of possibility for a government website to be out of date. I have sent an email regarding this we will see what they say.

    but see this thread has gone from asking about the need for chain protection on x chains/cross chains to the wll and the fmcsa definition of the rules
