Yes they look like radiation detectors to me also. Most every steel mill and scrap yard has them at the scales.

The yellow posts are radiation detectors. The VACIS is the X-ray unit used by CBP. They won't release any info on how strong it is. I get X-rayed five times a week. They will not let pregnant officers work the VACIS though..
