X15 blown turbo ?

If the compressor wheel made contact with the snail then yes thats a definite possibility but it only the oil seal failed then there wont be any metal headed to the engine.

 

Thinking cummins isn't the motor to be having for the past 20 years.

Between their turbos, fuel pumps, camshafts, and oil leaks.

Nothing has been improved.

 

Trading before the factory warranty goes away is the only way I'd ever think of buying one of these new nightmares.

 

Same boat as the OP. 2016 x15 565hp. Bought it used outta Reno a month ago. Second day having it on the road turbo failed. Threw a code. Went from high soot to extremely high soot to stop engine in mere seconds. Mechanics are going thru the engine with a fine tooth comb at the moment. Turbo needs replacing. Along with new def filter and sensors because everything is covered in soot. Idk how long the truck has been running like this before I bought it. But that’s what I get for buying a 5 year old lease return. No codes when I bought it and brought it back to Vegas. Gonna re name the truck to “I Let Her Lie” should’ve known what I was getting into smh

 

What's the estimate for repairs?^^^
