Do long idle times contribute to building sludge in the motor?

This is new to me, must be because of the back log of trucks ordered. When I was with Kenworth nothing but the medium duty's came out fo Kenmex. According to that you can get only very specific truck specs, a lot of those missing options are very popular options.

I don't know if that proves that they build a class 8 with a sleeper in Mexico.

Well everyone its been on the road about 3 weeks now. So far so good. The driver loves it, great power ( I would hope so) too early to tell on any kind of fuel mileage and truthfully in this business we don't even look at fuel economy. Case in point, that bed in the below pic was 18' wide. That sucker pulled a lot of wind- in the already windy state of WYOMING> As of today there 8,004 miles on the odometer. Quick run down on the specs: 2019 T-800W, X-15 Performance, 605/2050, 18, 3.73's, 20-20-46 axles. I cant remember off top of my head what the wheelbase was, 60" fifth wheel slide, disc brakes all around. It has the factory webasto bunk heater and I had the engine heater installed as well. I'm not a fan of idling, especially an emissions engine. Fenders are scheduled for the thanksgiving shutdown. For those of you familiar with I-25 in Wyoming south of Douglas there are a few hills back to back, driver had a D8 CAT on and only dropped one hole. By comparison i've passed frac outfits in the same place and they were creeping with their 4 ways on. Now I know they run neutered trucks, point is its pulling real good.
I was going to order a W9 spec'd pretty much the same way but Kenworth couldn't even start building the truck until after first of the year. I sold my other tractor in August and needed to get something back on the road. My dealer happen to have this one just a week out on order so we jumped on it. 5M Hauler.jpg 5M Hauler-bed.jpeg

Ive got my fingers crossed that Cummins has this figured out this time. I guess if they don't we'll go back to a Detroit. Ill try to check in here and post some updates as we get more miles on it. If your replying with questions I apologize in advance, I am leaving tomorrow to go Elk hunting and wont be around a phone or computer for a week- I will get back to you.

Tell the driver to keep the RPMs high, do not lug that motor. Liner issues are still there, lug and you may break one lose. 1600 rpm is the sweet spot. That is what the Australian train drivers have discovered. For what it is worth... And just saying.

How do we know the liners are still an issue. Wouldn't you think Cummins knew of the problem and corrected it? Doesn't seem like something too difficult to correct.
