XM or Sirius?

The one difference I've noted was in sports -- XM carries all the Major League Baseball games. A friend recently got a Sirius radio with the "Best of XM" service option, but it didn't include those. He's a football fan so didn't really care, but if you want baseball, you have to go XM, or get one of the ones that can receive all the channels from both.

(The XM radio with the "Best of Sirius" package does include the NFL games, so it seems like a better way to go to me if you want both.)

 

Since the merger I've been disapointed in how you have to buy best of XM to get the same College football games that I used to get with Sirius. I'm really thinking about dropping Sirius after the football season.

 

For me, Sirius all the way. Gotta have my Howard! LOL

 

Yeah, Howard, the guy with 12 weeks of vacation, 4 day a week show, and an unbearable "wrap-up" show that strokes his ego everyday.

You get about 150 shows a year out of that washed up, egomaniac.

XM's quality has seriously degenerated since Sirius took over. Commercials running over commercials running over shows, totally inept "engineers". They must hire 3 yr olds for that job. And I just love how they stop broadcasting on channels for a game of some sort. It's not like they are saving on bandwidth as they are still broadcasting on the channels just to say that the channel is off the air.

 

im a big sports fan so gotta go with XM. gotta have my baseball! sirius wasn't smart to exclude the mlb with their "best of" add on! with XM when u add "best of sirius" you get Nascar and NFL plus Playboy and if u like it u get the 2 Howard channels also.

 

Two weeks ago, someone broke into my pick-up and stole my (second) XM receiver. I called XM to have it turned off. (I didn't want to share MY subscription with the thief)
They told me they would "note" the radio (ID) as stolen in case someone tried to have it turned back on under a new subscription.
WHAT A GREAT IDEA (I thought to myself)
Four days later (on a LATE Friday night), my XM reverted to three channels: Radio ID, Preview and 247 Emergency channel.

I couldn't call XM until 8 am Saturday morning.


So............
Saturday morning I called and discovered that they turned off the WRONG RADIO, and LOCKED OUT the radio I was listening to. It took "some work" onn their part, but they got the Radio ID's "switched" and my radio started working in a couple hours. I ALMOST missed Leo LePorte.

Thursday morning..........my radio did the same thing. I called XM to have a signal re-sent to my radio.
1 hour later..................nothing.
1 1/2 hours later...........nothing.
When I got to my delivery, I checked online and discovered that now there was a NEW (unfamiliar) RADIO ID listed in my account.
Three hours and two Customer Service Agents and One Supervisor later:
Supervisor: Mr. H......if you insist on vulgar language, I will disconnect this call
ME: I don't give a #### what you do, If I was as incompetent at my job as YOU are, I would be working at XM too.......

I got my XM turned back on and they are sending me a NEW radio.

 

My radio did this last Thursday. I was driving down the road, it went silent for a second, then switched to the preview channel. I hit my presets button to switch it back, and it said "updating." OK. I scrolled through the channels, I had three. Radio ID, Preview and 247 Emergency channel. So I drove on down the road listening to the preview channel, waiting on it to "update." 45 minutes later, no change. While the phone was in my hand and was ringing at xm, I got the bright idea to turn the power off and then on again. Reboot it. That worked. When it came back on, I had all my channels back. Hung up with XM before they answered the phone.

 

That doesn't work when some dip-#### at XM changes your radio ID
