I'm looking into it, but I really don't know if I really want to continue my subscription past December. I've kinda had it with "customer service" with SiriusXM.

Yes I am new to trucking but I am also a second career guy too.

Yes I will be using my iPad and iPhone for navigation as I don't need a "unitasker" item on my dash like a stand alone GPS unit.

And who said I was using Apple/Google maps for navigation? I will use them when they are the best tool available for the task at hand that is very true.

But I have loaded both the CoPilot App for Truck Routing and the Truckers Path App for Truck Specific POI like fueling, parking, etc.

In addition to those apps, I will be using CAT Scale App for weighing my Truck/Trailer right from my cab, the Transflo App to submit BOLs and other paperwork back to the office, a couple Weather Apps to see what I am driving into or away from.... Plus several more apps for different yet specific tasks that I will face.

Thank you for your concern and advice... I love that we can gain and give advice to each other here on TTR... It's a great asset to all of us.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Ok, but before you quit xm/sirius try running your normal lanes for 1 week ONLY relying on the am/fm. I bet you can't do it. Constantly searching for radio stations as you constantly move from one area to the next. the areas that have no signal are as bad as the areas that have TOO MANY stations. Spanish, religious, talk, selling their pets and used furniture ... it's nothing I want anything to do with anymore thanks to satellite radio

I have 3 iPods, lol. But I know what you're saying. I run pretty desolate areas until I get to Los Angeles.

I just did the Apple Music free trial to see if I like it better.

I assume you are on some kind of unlimited internet plan? Or a free audio plan?

No. Just trying it. I'm on a 30 gig a month plan with ATT.

I was thinking about doing the same with SXM... Just use the Internet option until I figure out what radio option I want.

But need to switch to T-Mobile before I do that. Too expensive on Verizon.
