I’m in the middle of yet another one of their loads
.... dirty rotten liars they are
I’ve noticed a pattern wherever money is involved ... people will lie
plain and simple
It’s a pain killer

And what’s the issue?
-
XPO knew I didn’t have the hours to load
and leave ... assured I could load and
stay at shipper for my 10
Shipping guy looked at me like I was nuts
“ who told you that “ he chuckled
I know that dispatcher trick
.... get the driver under the load no matter
what ... they assume we are desperate
I rolled right on out of there ... empty as
when I came in
Fortunately came across a closed weigh
station about 40 miles away
Got lucky ... hopefully DOT won’t chase me off
There is just no parking on the 50 in Md
and Chesapeake Bay ZoneLite bug Thanks this. -
You mean the broker told you? Or your dispatcher ?
are you an owner operator ? Or leased on? Or company driver?86scotty Thanks this. -
XPO person
Our back haul Dept hands us off directly
to outside brokers .... in this case XPO
Factory products outbound ..,back haul to get us back to the plant
We don’t have dispatchers per seLite bug Thanks this. -
All I can say is next time get everything in writing on rate con, if so and so doesn’t happen they are responsible for correcting the issue.
If they won’t put it in rate con then you can’t believe them. -
Good luck getting XPO to correct the issue. They are like TQL. They have lied to me so many times I almost won't haul at all for them but when I do I expect problems. I don't hope for the best, I expect the worst. Yep, I have to be that desperate.

I have nothing bad to say about XPO.
and
Whatever that 24 year old Johnny from XPO said is irrelevant. HOS is your problem...you deal with it and risk with it. XPO's expected job here is to tell you where to pick up and deliver and pay the amount agreed. They do pay. Shipper/receiver amenities are not in their domain.
I also wound up at a place in Miami, FL where the 14 run out in the middle of a night. I actually could stay there but I found the place too spooky. I took 1.5 hours to PC to get to the nearest available safe area, which I considered Florida DOT scale, I did 8 hours there.
That's what the PC is for when you run out of hours at a shipper/receiver.
. ..It is not like they did not pay you or sent you there for nothing.Last edited: Dec 14, 2019

Gotta say I totally agree Joe ^^^^. I don't love XPO, as noted, but your post is one the OP ought to read and understand. Personable responsibility. It takes a LOT of it to be a successful O/O and seasoned ones still makes mistakes. I risked it twice this past week (very bad week) and got burned twice.

Reading derogatory things about brokers is like reading bad reviews about shippers/receivers on Google. If I were to rely on them, there would be no shipper or no receiver that I could go to. Almost never, does anyone say anything positive there. Those are mostly written by poor dummies who arrive at places like Costco or Targets two days late, often not even knowing that they were misled by their own dispatch. To complain about a broker, there has to be either non or short payment or some deceptive tactic that put you in harm's way. For example, ordering two carriers to pick up the same load or dodging agreed TONU or detention or sending you to Target two days late already...I learned to confirm the appointment with the receiver prior to pick up when going to these big guys.
XPO is one of the mega brokers such as TQL, CH Robinson, JB Hunt, Coyote...cheap by nature but always reliable with payments. They are too big to become friends with, but also too big to let someone's individual story deter you from using them.Last edited: Dec 15, 2019
