Really, now? So, quit this one, find another. The other does that, too. Quit that one. Find another. Rinse, repeat. You see that as NOT a problem?

This isn't worth quitting over. I have no idea that was even brought up in the first place. Can't someone complain about an irritating, unnecessary thing? Apparently not. Lot o' broker ###kissers here, it seems.

I agree, it is a company issue in these cases. In my specific case, it's also a dispatcher issue. He used to be a broker-agent before switching to this. He knows the game and is afraid of it. He also waits too long to set up runs. So, yeah, company issue overall. I just want to understand why brokers act like this when they realize they can. If we did these things as children, good parents would punish. Right?

The Feds passed a regulation requiring transparency over bids. Broker reactions? Add in a little line in the contract waiving the carrier's option to see that...or no load. Things like that bug me, and when it's in my face it ticks me off. According to some here, I guess I'm just a big, fat whiner, eh? To those people, I kindly ask that they go shill elsewhere. All that shows me is that they've surrendered their power and will not struggle to see things improve.

You keep saying brokers aren’t necessary yet the company you work for is reliant on them 100%. What is stopping your company from going out and finding their own freight? How many trucks are they running? How many trailers do they have? If we woke up tomorrow and brokers no longer existed what would your company do in order to find work for you?

Exactly the questions I have, right there! I mean, get a contract or two, run those...use brokers for backhaul. There are so many shippers in odd places where that can be done. Drop a trailer or two for places who wish to preload, and there ya go. It would, however, require a full time sales team.

At this time, my company is still running as if it's one truck. One tractor with one trailer. 140 trucks, so it is time to start sprinkling trailers here and there.

What would they do without brokers? I might be clear here: without THIRD PARTY brokers. Well, I suppose they'd lease onto bigger companies, and/or use those same bigger companies' brokerages. TQL and the like get their freight from those places using algorithms to bid in batches. Without the 3rd party parasites, we'd go to the sources. Those parasites go away, they do not take the freight with them. Which kinda makes them a teeny bit unnecessary, doesn't it?
