Why dealer? You go there only if it's covered by warranty or it is a last resort.

They have the laptop to reset the truck computer and register the new serial numbers for the dpf.

I'm happy with this dealer. Per hour is expensive, but the time it takes to get repairs done is quicker than the independent shop I use, with less mistakes.

Of course it is, so you spend the time and money on a truck making sure it is good and it saves you maybe the minimal of $30k with repairs and accumulated downtime.

At that point when you break down it doesn’t seem to be expensive at all, does it?

I know of a few, no really a bunch of owners who didn’t listen treated this as a car or pickup and spent more on just the overhaul than I mentioned above, they had to get the first truck that they thought would make them a big time truck driver.

like I said the key is to minimize downtime, paying for reducing that risk up front is better than paying for it on the back end.

You better agree on the price and the form of payment before doing all of that. And the seller doesn't disagree with the sale after he understands the truck is in a good condition.
If buying more expensive old truck, I'll be looking for at least 6 months of remaining original manufacturing warranty, that can be transferred to me.

    IPOP Thanks this.

Why north east. Where paying McDonalds employees between 16.60 and 22.00 an hour and I can't get better than 2.35 ( on average) a mile coming out of maine. Traffic sucks roads suck. Parking sucks. Unless you live up here or have contract frieght or like night driving. It's just a pia.
