I have been reading this forum for a long time and while the original poster makes a lot of sense on some of the issues, OTR versus Dedicated is completely different and OTR at TMC is completely different than it was two or three years ago. One thing I know is the company is very aware of the impact on the drivers and they don't take it lightly, but all companys had to adapt to make it in this environment. Things seem to be picking up, heres hoping for better days ahead. As far as the shut down talk, Its been talked about for over 2 years, I believe TMC will be hear when this storm passes and will still be a good option for a new driver getting into the business.

Hey Driveformoney and welcome to the forum! I noticed this is your first post and, quite frankly, it is refreshing. Many new members come on only to vent their frustrations and dissatisfactions with their carrier (of course, it's always the carrier's fault) and then move on, never to be heard from again. Thank you!

thanks oldnewbie, things are usually never as good as they seem and hopefully aren't as bad as they seem, no one knows for sure about any company, but the negativity can eat you up, time to think positive.

hrm....you'd think we would have seen a news report or something............ -
That's not entirely true, I LOVED OTR. I didn't care for the way TMC conducted it's business. I'd drive over the road in a heartbeat again if the conditions were better, ie if drivers weren't taking it in the keyster more and more rather than less and less. I'm sure it will turn around, but I was there for the turn from decent to not good. I like local driving but it's seasonal, I truly loved seeing the country though and it's not nearly as seasonal. One thing I really liked about TMC is that they did a very good job keeping Rocky Mountains and west which I asked for. I'm sure I'll be driving over the road again, but I'll be doing it on my own terms when I do.

Funny they were advertising on Craigslist twice this week!
