    #### ok sounds good. I can't wait. Is it easier to back the trailer with a yard truck than it is with a sleeper

Yeah, cause the truck is smaller. But the turning radius is also shorter too, so you will have to get used to it.

Depending if you use a yard truck or a regular day cab, it will vary too.

Yard trucks are nice cause they have automatic fifth wheel releases in the truck.

Ok thanks for the info. I was surprised I got the job offer with not that much experience. So I will take it and run with it and learn as much as I can. By the time I get into a truck again I shouldn't have a problem backing anywhere.

    CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

Some places want more experience than others. Mine wanted a cdl-a and two years driving. Part of the reason is we have 2 warehouses and the plant we service. The plant is a mile from the warehouse and to get there you have to cross two sets of railroad tracks and a tight left from one road to another, if there is a car in the turn lane.

The plant was built in the 1800s and one of the doors we back into was originally designed for horse and buggy. So, it is real tight up there.

You will work, especially if busy. There are times I have run 12 hours straight, stopping only for lunch.

But you learn a lot too. Just dont get in a hurry. Never put yourself in a situation you cant get out of.

Good luck. If you have any more questions just feel free to ask.

And always remember. GOAL. Just because you are driving a yard truck doesnt mean you stop goaling. I still do it. Especially with refers and the yellow bars on the outside of the dock doors. You can tear up doors easily.

Sounds like such a perfect gig. I pray that once I get my CDL-A that I can eventually land something like this(for starting out).

    Best wishes!

I got offered a spotter position at the AB brewery but turned it down to go linehaul instead because of the $ difference. And the getting in and out 150 times a day I'm sure would wear the knees out quick.

Would have been nice though working 8 hours a day 5 days a week again, I won't lie. Good luck

Are you working at the Coke plant at Auburndale Florida? I used to work for a Comcar company and spent several days driving a daycab pulling trailers in and out of there.
