To pay a lawyer $300 or more to fight a $40 ticket is just absurd when it probaly won t even be a moving violation. I ve heard of alot worse tickets by folks still driving. But you should still check into it as I am no lawyer. best of luck to you.

Arizona has the 11mph over law also go above that and it s considered excessive speed.

My son got stopped at an DOT inspection this past week. He was driving a Penske Truck, working for a pool supply outfit. Inspector checked the load, since he was placcarded with Oxidizer. (6 20lb buckets of chemical) The inspector did not like the way the pallet was wrapped. He got a ticket for it.
What does this mean to his career and record? He is pretty upset over it. -
Those are questions for an attorney . He needs to fight it . What evidence would the officer have in court ? Who was responsible for wrapping it ? The main responsibility should be the shipper's . Did your son load the truck ? Did the officer make him wrap it differently before he continued ? If he just let him drive on that would weaken the case . Although the policy of some companies is to immediately report citations , regulations only require reporting convictions . He needs to get it dismissed or reduced .

The officer made him wrap it a few more times. The officer took a picture of it before he re-wrapped it. Thoe officer also made him sign that he re-wrapped it and fixed the issue. The other violations were against the company. No Haz-Mat Reg. # No DOT # on bills.

In TEXAS, Nothing !(IF)
Just make sure to stay on the Companies ### about it
Keep record of the citation number and call in and request a copy of the report.
Retain it as a personal document, get "written" proof the fines were paid by the Company and the issue is settled.
Do not settle for a verbal,GET PROOF the fine was paid.
You should now have to hard copies at this point.
Contact the local DOT Station and Verifiy the case is "CLOSED"
If all goes smooth it wont ever show on a Texas CDL,someone drops the ball along the way(default) the system will pick it up.

This just supports my theory even more. It is is no way about safety to these officers anymore. It is nothing but another source of income for the state or county or whoever. You can't drive tired or you'll get shutdown. You can't park on a ramp you'll get a ticket. You can't find a parking spot in a truck stop so what choices do you have? Well just bend over grab your ankles and apply the lube of your choice cause any of these scenarios it's going up your rear end!
