If its in your sons truck, and hes the on duty driver, then it is his responsibility to make sure the load is safe and secure. When the tuck is loaded if its not correct, then is the time for the driver to have the shipper repackage for safe shipping, or tell them to get it out of your truck. Once your on the road its your baby.

Truckdriver need to learn to read. Maybe the words No Parking is to difficult to understand. I have been driving over 3 million miles, I have recieved a considerable amount of tickets, most of which I was commiting the stated voilation or worse. But claiming that its the cops fault because you didnt find a safe legal place to park before your falling asleep while driving is a little much. Knowing when and where you can park is part of plannng your trip to start with. driver need to except there mistakes and move on the world is not out to get us, unless we set our selves up for .

Like speeding tickets, that strat out with I was only 3 miles over, well you were over not under, shut up pay the fine and move on. If you cant afford the fine then slowdown.

Planning the trip and where to stop is not always easy to do. I have planned where I was going to stop and found it was not possible. Traffic backups, detours and delays. Get to the truckstop later than what was planned and no parking available. Now what.

Alot of companies now track the truck and the movement on the qualcomm. It went off. Truck has to be parked. What choice is now available.

It does not cover any and all times.

Find a industrial park, grocery store. I pull double so parking is even more difficult, Grocery stores work well.

Disregarding an offical traffic device is a moving violation. I got one last November for missing a sign that was hidden by a piece of construction equipment. Went to the town hall the next day and paid my $50 fine with my credit card that way I have the credit card company to back me up on the fact that it was paid, kept the sign credit card reciept and the reciept from the city hall. I was mad that I got the ticket and the placement of the sign, but I was in the wrong and I got a ticket for it.

First and only stop available after getting out of the town. No industrials around.

Signs in the grocery parking lots, no parking. Besides, the truck cannot move any further than in the parking lot.

Some companies do not allow the option of stretching a logbook to suit the need of where to park.

Trip planning has nothing to do with it have you ever been held up on a trip due to construction, accident, weather, etc.... I have. Have you ever planned to stop at a certain truck stop on your trip to spend the night but got too tired to make it before you got there? I Have. Have you ever gotten sleepy while driving after oh i don't know 2-3 hours on the road after sleeping for 7-8 good sleep? I have. If i brake a law then i deserve any ticket i get. If i get sleepy at 2 am in the morning and the only place to park is a ramp that says NO PARKING then thats where i'm going to park. I also don't feel that me parking there long enoughto take a quik nap is suffcient cause to get a ticket. I have been woken up on a ramp before when sleeping and the officer just wanted to know how long i was planning on staying there and since i was just taking a quik nap it was no problem but if i was taking a 10hr i needed to move. There are other states that it doen't matter your getting a ticket end of discussion. If i'm speeding and get caught you'll never hear a word cause i'll just pay it and go on. As far as parking when your tired goes i guess your too confused to realize that it's a totally different subject. :biggrin_2554:

Well, my son called the court this afternoon and the fine is only $185.00 and it won't affect his driving record. But the bad news is that on this past Tuesday, his boss called him at home and told him that he is not needed anymore. WTF?

Tomorrow after he goes to court to pay the fine, he is going to speak to a lawyer. Something sound fishy. Doesn't it?

    Nothing fishy,he was expendable.
Most likely there are other instances involving his job performance
that supported the companies justification in his termination.
