My buddy ripped the pigtail off our gooseneck at my last job. He had to rewire it in the snow about 20* out and windy. I was lmao from the cab of the warm truck. I had told him not to turn so tight or it would catch on the bed and he didn't listen.

Funny you say that, I had a big hole in a red air line last winter in Lake wells Wisconsin good 5 degrees outside. luckily I was close to a truck stop. I will never forget "the struggle" dragging a trailer with locked brakes then having to change the freaking line

Caging the brakes, or backing off the adjustment, or carrying a couple of airline splices with you.... That's my favorite, I can fix it and be done with it until the weather is nicer.

For several years now the dump valve is wired through the abs and won't work above x speed. I wanna say 10mph but don't quote me on that, it's been a while since i looked at my owners manual. Point is, they are perfectly legal to use on the road.

Certainly better than replacing 8 flat spotted trailer tires from dragging them huh?

I don't think we have a single pup trailer that doesn't have flat spotted tires.

I wouldn't mind seeing that in writing on FMCSA, FDOT or other legal site. Know of any code/s?

Last time I read a manual about it, it cuts power to dump valve using abs circuit at 3 mph........ Reitnour. Seemed dumb to be that low IMO be tough to make it all the way thru a lot of lights that one would want a dump valve working for.

I haven't had a dump valve wired in a long time.
My new wagons have rear axle lifts. Have to wire that up in the cab.

Nope. I took great dane at their word. If it wasn't legal it would not be built that way by the manufacturer. They got to much to lose to sell an illegally operating product. However it does work as advertised, you can hear the valve kick in and out.
3mph? I agree, that's way to low. Mine is higher than that.
