I had to laugh at some of your post.Anyway my last company had equipment dated in 94 and always braking down..Saving money was more important then safety.

Recruiters are'nt the problem in this industry.Sure many do lie many don't tell the applicants everything, only what they wanna hear. Many leave important details out.But the real problem is so many applicnts are soon to be new drivers or new drivers and don't know the games company plays untill they drive for a few. Then they start not believing what the recruiter says. When I apply for a company I coul care less what recruiters say.I use my judgment.

i spoke to their recruiter and the dude was a real #### ! even if you have one termination they wont talk to you, total bull #### ! and their tractors that ive seen look like crap ( i was more interested in pay ) as far as job reference goes ? you have to check all that before walking into some companies and DAC too ! sharkey isn't the only one who combs through that stuff with a microscope.

Yeah that show is a bunch of crap. If you talk to any REAL Sharkey drivers you'll get the truth. Most of the time the drivers are Only here for the free insurance. They don't tell you that Sharkey never gives a raise. Ever. Some drivers been here 5 years and are still making .35 a mile just like when they started. Still driving the same pos with 980000 miles on it too. The terminals are crap. 1 dirty shower and 3 army cots that no one wants to sleep on cause you start itching if you do. No wifi. No service barely in Quincy regardless of your provider. Dry van trailers are all 20 years old and beat to ####. Home terminal looks like a scrap yard cause of all the wrecked trucks and trailers sitting around.

Yeah it was good to start with but I'm seeing it for what it really is. It's a place for older drivers that don't need alot of money and just want the free insurance. I guarantee most of the drivers at Sharkey wouldn't get hired at any other company and that's why they are still here.

OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just realized who you were. We talked about you,,,, with J&&& Sh&&&&y last week! Yes, because the owner likes to talk with drivers when your in the area, of the home terminal, and he does a driver meeting!!

I'm not going to say your name, but you we're given chance after chance! I cannot believe you refused a drug test!!!????? Are you serious? I'm glad an ### like you is not on the road and endangering my Wife and Kids! Best opportunity of your life and you blew it for Drugs?!!!

Truth is, if you would have admitted you had a problem that you could not get under control, you would have had a trucker.... Brother/sisterhood, with a owner, drivers, and others at this company that would have extended help to you!!!!!! Instead, you choose posting on the internet about how mad you are about blowing your driving career???

Get some help brother! Not mad! Just didn't know YOU were the driver our QualComs blowing up for. Good thing about Jack S. He'd give you a second chance! Or at least, that's what I took away from the meeting! I think you hurt some folks that believed in you and you need to suck it up and admit what you did!

sorry i had been off line for a while but to reply to all who asked me some questions. I am a recruiter/driver for Decker have been here for 14 years started as an O/O then moving into the office and still drive on weekends and holidays when ever I can. I have experiance in flatbed and reefer with this company. I also hauled livestock for 8 years all over the US and flat and reefer before that.
as for why we need to recruit it is simple, the new breed of drivers are nothing like the drivers of say 15 years or farthers back, most of them have no loyalty or work ethic, its all about them and nothing else. yes we loose drivers mostly to local jobs and last 2 years a lot of them to retirement, and since we are trying to grow yes I need to hire new drivers to grow my fleet. But we also loose drivers to accidents that they have that is their fault and are let go, for tickets for major moving violations that are their fault, for failing a drug or alcohol test that is their fault, because they found out that even thou they thought flatbed or reefer was something they wanted to do it wasnt. If you want to test me sometime call in and have me recruit you and I will tell you exactly how it is here and if you dont like it oh well.
so many drivers call lots and lots of companies and then get everything mixed up and then when they get to one company they dont remember what they were told what from which one. I love this industry and always want people to succed and do well no matter what company they drive for, but as i have learned lately you cant fix stupid. sorry for rambling but I take my reputation as a driver and recruiter very personal
