They do it, I just haven't gotten with any of the agents that do. I have stayed away from coils due to the wait times to get loaded and unloaded. If you get with the right broker tho, and pick/deliver at the right places I bet it works out very well. Once I get home next friday I am going to start running some local stuff the best I can. I might get stuck running coils for a while but that will be ok if it gets me home.

On a side note, did you get coil bags??? How are they working for you?

    Jas7887 Thanks this.

I got a coil bag and it works great and is easy to use and saves a lot of time. I have not ran into any long waiting times YET, I try to schedule my first pick around 5a then keep it moving from there, living where you do you are gonna do well also

    SHC and Jas7887 Thank this.

Dude, you want to be a truck driver and home 70% of a week? Doesn't happen.

My husband used to haul cattle. He was typically home every night. He worked for a guy and it was Eastern Cattle. They are out of business. I knew it was too good to be true.

We had our own business, while he hauled cattle. We leased to CRST, 3 months before Eastern filed. We skated out of that. We hauled our butts with CRST. I stayed home with my mother, while she was in hospice. Hubby ran short runs. We grossed the same, fuel was much more expensive.

We own our equipment and worked hard, with CRST. After 3 years, we moved to Landstar. My husband is home more often, still not 70%. I think you are optimistic.. My hubby has been home more often with LS. We've made more money. We want a house, so he's running. Home 70 %? I would have to make a lot of money to cover his 70%. I would have to make $8200 a month.

I hope your wife is an attorney.
