First of all these mega companies have 1,000's of drivers. Most real men dont whine like #######. Fact is every company has good and bad. I worked for one of the lowest paying #### companies supposedly out there. Guess what? Had a great experience overall. Learned a lot. Was there some annoying #### going on? Yeah, big deal so does working at the grocery store.

Really? I had no idea. I got my cdl on my own then my company (small moving company) and they sent me otr right away. Then had no problem getting my next job.
-
The second job is easy to get because you have some experience; the first one is the problem with majority of drivers that don't attend school because they have a cdl but no experience or formal training.
-
Exactly that's why I'm trying to weed out the b/s from the real problems.
-
I've also seen plenty of the "i got my own cdl but can't find anything" posts but then there's people like Lucy in the sky that didn't have a problem at all. I've realized it's all about how much/hard you look and ask around

Eager I work for Prime. After looking though your hometime needs I don't Prime is a good fit for you. Our policy is one day home per week out with a max of 4 days home at one time and they like you to be out for 3wks. Otherwise Prime meets all your needs, pay; $200/wk is loaned to you for the first 2-4wks until you pass your cdl test, then $700/wk while with a trainer for I believe 30, 000 miles(6-8wks), then 43cpm once in your own truck. Free cdl training with a one year contract $3, 000 due if you break the contract or 1/2 that if you stay 6mo.
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate to stay home more often for. I know knight used to offer 7 out 7 home, 14 out 7 home, and 21 out 7 home.Eager Driver Thanks this. -
And that is why I originally just kept it moving when I saw what they offered for home time but if it comes down to prime or nothing then I would choose prime over nothing because I want to get into it and there pay seems really good which is more important than home time at the moment. I have worked construction where I would be gone for some time longest was 2 months so I can deal with it I would just prefer not toChinatown Thanks this.

Maybe look into Roehl? Not sure if you're in their hiring area, but I know they have some fairly flexible hometime.

Well I just wanted to give an update on what's going on. It looks like I'm going with prime I was already accepted but they have to resend my application because I messed up on some previous employer dates and I didn't want that to come back later and bite me in the butt. Hopefully I get accepted again so I can get this going. I just wanted to stop by and say thanks once again to the people that helped me out with this step in life with there info and knowledge. Thank you
