The gas station guy: Well, it looks to me like he did some pretty good driving. Went around the fuel pump and parked in the garage at 40mph. Like to see any of you other experts do that. Heh...
The low bridge guy: He was a putz. He would have been a putz in a CRE truck, a Knight, a Celadon, a TMC, a Prime, an O/O truck.... Doesn't matter what's written on the door. He's a putz.
We have no idea what his training was or how many years or days he's been driving. Swift has drivers who have been moving large vehicles for 35 and more years with no crashes in all those years. My point?
You can't train "stupid" out of 'em.
One more thing: Let's look for the driver joining the forum next week so he can complain about how this is all Swift's fault. I'll be watching that thread to see how many of the people blasting this guy because he has a lightning bolt S on his truck suddenly become his greatest supporters because he was fired for this.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
Injun Thanks this.

Romo is still the worst thing to happen to the Cowboys in years, no consistency. he's like a bad dream version of Favre.
BTW Injun, if you look back you will see I defended Swift as a company; however, they apparently need to do some more in depth road tests.Injun Thanks this. -
Wolfie, you won't hear any argument from me on that.

I remember when I was younger one of the flatbed companies dad worked for actually had a 1 week "test drive". During that time dad drove local and was home nightly, but it gave the company time to see how you did in a more real world scenario. This isn't the most cost effective solution for mega carriers, but can you imagine what a situation like that could do for safety scores? No more of these road tests where you drive 2 miles, then back into a predetermined easy straightline, or simple 45.

But Officer, I was just deliverying that bridge and I ran out of fuel.
-
Nor will you see me dogging Swift because they fired a driver who done this....then came in this forum to complain.
However...I will dog them for even hiring the dumb ###. Simply because it seems they hire a LOT of them.
And the one thing I think we can both agree on. This guy/gal was a complete dumb ###. That BIG yellow sign says it all.
