Made it to Richmond around 3:30am this morning. Between Fayetteville, N.C. And Raleigh, I almost witnessed two fights (which were comical, BTW), and the bus driver losing his cool, lol. Was an eventful trip, entertaining. I wasn't suppose to arrive until today (later today), but the cute young lady at the desk didn't want me to be out of a room, or have to pay for it so I got one free. Nice! Woke up this morning and of course I will be changing rooms later to bunk with other Swifty trainees, but was nice to get a couple hours rest. The hotel is right across the street from Richmond int.. I can also see an SR-71 Blackbird, and a F14 Tomcat. There is one other but can't make it out, definitely a Navy jet but can't remember the name. Anyway here I sit, waiting for now. It's cloudy, but looks like the skies are clearing. I am glad I made it and ready to get started.

P.S. New guys, and gals. Make sure your recruiter sends your confirmation number for bus ticket in an email. I read mine back to the recruiter to double check and he said it was right. Wrong! I had to pay for my bus ticket, around a hundred bucks. Make sure u get an email.

It looks like you paid for that free room after all. They are just calling it a bus ticket. LOL. Keep your ticket and make them reimburse you. But this a good experience you can call your first lesson- there are going to be times when you have to loan your company money so that they can conduct business. LOL

BTW- today's second lesson is this----

Every Sunday morning, no matter where I'm at, I will eat two eggs over hard, side of sausage, and white toast not split. I make a sandwich and eat it with ketchup. I don't ask much out of life, just that people help me in ensuring that my Sunday ritual goes off without any glitches. When I ask the waitress why has it taken 47 minutes to accomplish this, it seems like a normal inquiry because it has indeed taken 47 minutes. Now here's the lesson- she gets pissed because I added "I can train a circus monkey to cook faster that this". How much do you want to bet that I will have "extra special ingredients" with my eggs now?

to recap- don't piss-off your waitress!

You just learned a valuable lesson in trucking. Keep the waitress happy.

That's a lesson you would have thought that I would've already learned, but I obviously didn't pay attention. With my luck, she'll remember it the next time I'm in there to.
