Well, lets hope he's concentrating on his studies. If I had devoted the same amount of time to studying my lessons back in high school as I spent on chasing skirts and smoking grass, I would have invented the cure for cancer and a proven male enhancement formula by now
aww man the motel doesn't have wifi? that's awful ;x.. im coming from Florida, 18 hour bus ride incoming not really looking forward to that. Leaving on saturday will be there sunday.. Hope it all works out.
I'm not going to defend this mentor on hygeine issues and what not but as far as hos goes; as a driver ur not going to be paid for on duty time. Most drivers try to limit on duty time as much as legally possible and those hours don't count against ur 240 also. You need to conserve as many hours for driving as legally possible (just like any other driver). When driver development came up with this they hoped it would increase a students driving time and get em done quicker, but it seems like it has caused a hike in on duty time instead. They should revamp and pay only for drive time if going this route or just go back to salary (best option IMO)
So wait.... we have to pull over night shifts??? Wow... this gets better and better!!!! I'm heading down to start for Monday. There 2 wks then have to drive to Hammond. Not excited about THAT part.... Hope it's going well!! Is the motel at least clean?
I'm here at school with Shamrock, and he seems to be doing well. He definitely has the right attitude. I've graduated from school now and passed my test with the state, so I'm heading to orientation on Monday. The school here in Richmond is really good, and it's leaps and bounds better than the school in TN according to students that have been moved here from there. All in all, it was a good experience.
Thanks for the update. After talking with him here, I've gotten to where I'm pulling for him to succeed. Good luck to you as well
