Yep.. sounds very familiar, "We will look into it." Yeah, you mean your "Accountants" (Who live behind a desk and not in the real world) Will look into it, and of course chose for the company what looks good on paper.

    heheheh. Oh well....

If this semi truck deal falls through i'm going to apply for maverick, at least then i can put some more money aside than i'm making now for a hefty down payment on my own truck.

Saw the coolest thing yesterday, I really want to haul military freight.. I've heard of 'ghost trucks' and things of that nature, but never in my life have i seen state police literally moving people off the interstate to escort a black/black peterbilt with limo Tinted windows (no ICC/DOT num, no company name, nothing, completely plain truck) pulling a step deck with some kind of tarped crate on it.. I was doing 75 on the interestate and the bear travelling in front of the truck was behind me when i looked in the mirror, lights and sirens blazing!

Everyone pulled off the road and another squad car, and then this unidentified semi ran by us hauling ### with another squad car following behind him.. The truck had more amber lights than you could shake a stick at.. I tried to get a picture of the back but my phone was at 20% battery and it wouldn't let me open the camera..

Anyway when the truck went by there was a wooden sign hanging on the back of the load that said "Property of US Gov. Vehicle WILL NOT stop."

I got friggin' goosebumps!! I want that job!!! Something tells me ill need about 30 more years under my belt first =P

Have seen this before. However hauling for the military is kind of a big headache. Most of the time u do not know what u are hauling. U have military escorts which isnt bad. U have 1 military ( AMRED ) in the jump seat of your truck, at all times. U are not, and i mean NOT allowed to leave the truck while it is under dispatch of a load. They will bring ur meals to you. If u gots to go piss or ####, they watch your every move, U are never alone. You have to go where they say, when they say. If u are over hrs. SO WHAT. if u want to go home SO WHAT. they pretty much own u for the most part. But the plus is u do not have to stop at scales, port of entry, for police, or anything else for that matter. I have a buddy of mine that did that for about 3 years and he said its 1 hell of a strain on the family. But they do cater to you, they bring ur meals, snacks, drinks. etc. But u have no alone time at all. And ur life could very well be in danger due to the load. But like i said u never know what u are hauling, that is all 100% disclosed. U are just told to get in and follow them. But he did say if u can deal with all that the money is WELL WELL worth it.

That's what my buddy said when i told him the windows on the truck were tinted and i mean DARK he said that he had 'help' sitting in there with him, which is probably the case.. It was neat to see!
