Stop trying to make a saint out of everybody who served in the military and playing bleeding heart to everybody who wants to be 'special'. Sometimes simple is best.
I have never seen such bs as i have seen here.
People who serve in the military are just people. Good people. Same as butchers and bakers and candlestick makers.
Turning them into gods who must be adored is an American pastime.
All those who do not see this as I have described need to grow up.
efiing diabetes dog. It is laughable. -
Nothing wrong with the mlitary, they should be respected and helped at every turn but please gibve me a break.
Diabetes dog. A joke. -

Lot of snowflake material here. Anybody know if I can get that dog for my ibuprofene use.
How on earth did people get along before the snowflake revolution?
Better get a 'service dog' because sometimes I am out of my safe space. What bs.
Here is a tidbit. As a child thru teenager I had a great friend who's dad served in the tanks in North Africa against Rommel. Apparently it was horrific. He would rarely talk about it and was a bright, funny, eccentric loving fellow into his 90's. When he retired he spent his time ferrying people around to and fro from hospital, people worse off than himself.
I tried to ask him about his experiences several times but he good naturedly fended me off.
He had 2 dogs that were PETS. He loved them devotedly.
If I had shown him the nonsense posted here he would have laughed himself sick. Probably followed by the word pansies. that was the second world war. Now service is emblazoned in avatars etc.
To take part in the military especially in a time of war is to put it mildly to be admired. These folk should be helped and respected at every turn. Unfortunately, as with most human things it is taken advantage of.
For every real case of genuine PTSD there are 20 bandwagon jumpers. They need special dogs and all kinds of help.
As I said earlier I have said that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes and it is much easier to kill the messenger than to listen to the truth.
God bless the military but stop wallowing in your own glory and be a little, just a little bit, honest. Only a little is all I ask. Please, I beg you.
Diabetes dog and PTSD dog give me a break.
Stands on one side while crowd prepares lynching rope.passingthru69 and noluck Thank this. -
I am not going to go into details about myself but suffice to say he was my introduction to Vietnam Vets along with one other guy. I was astonished.
Clearly PTSD is not only real but has not been recognized as such since WWI. It needs treating, sympathy and all the help thrown at it that is possible.
BUT
It is now being used as a catchall.
In an attempt to overcompensate we have what you have posted about.
How can you possibly train a dog to help someone who is having flashbacks to Da Nang??
You can't and to say you can is obvious nonsense.
If you dare to say rubbish then you are 'insensitive', 'anti military' and uninformed.
Nope I am well informed. I like to rely on common sense and 1st hand observation.
The idea of a PTSD dog is in the same bracket as a dog trained to walk someone through an anxiety attack.
It is ludicrous bs but if you say so you are a monster.
Signed
Monster.
Sincere and respectful best wishes to all who protect our nation. Thank you. -
And @izifaddag , you're most likely gonna get the thread locked if you don't cool your jets a bit. I don't know how much proof a person has to give you---apparently nothing will convince you (and that's your prerogative). But like it or not....I will add another "service dog" to the line up: Dogs are trained to notice signs of Epileptic Seizure as well.....any of this could be looked up by you, if you was willing to look it up----that is, of course, if you don't think EVERYONE is "full of it" across the entire web.88 Alpha, drvrtech77, carramrod32 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I tend to agree with @izifaddag . His message is spot on. Delivery maybe not. Either way I wish people would quit bringing their pet to Home Depot. And vets are just people. And just because you're a vet doesn't make you good people.
