Just go back to pre 1980's truck regulations. Let the government set the rates.

It looks like we are going that way; housing market is almost there. Time to dust off a résumé and apply for union gig!

Hmm...almost like they decided to come play ball after all the “transparency” crap last year. Just a guess, but I’d say the TIA probably has a bigger checkbook than OOIDA when it comes to buying influence in DC.

Or their margins are getting lower and lower in today's digital world.
Truckload brokerage margins in Q4 lowest in 2 years: TIA - FreightWavesslow.rider Thanks this. -
Either way they likely have the ability to put the squeeze on the little guy more than the little guy can hurt them with their want of transparency.

I never was fond of the transparency argument from the OOs. I tend to think they don't know what they're doing. I also think that it's too easy for people to go into business for themselves nowadays. I think that contributes to why rates stink at times. Many little guys have the right idea and business acumen, but others who don't want to go certain places or give up anything get into the business with no capital and knowledge of the business. If there's anything that should be paid attention to by the government, it's that. I don't industries of any kind should be flooded with dead weight.
