Sly Fox covered it pretty well, but I will add I find Thermo Kings much quieter than Carrier. We pull both and at least with ours it's quite a difference. I personally prefer Carrier though as they seem to do much better with frozen loads.

I'm still trying to find WCP out there to park next to. This is the second thread I told him I pull next to you guys on purpose and I have to follow through on my word. :biggrin_25520:

Come to KY when I'm doing a reset and I'll buy you a beer while I get my whiskey. That's the one nice thing about being stuck there every other weekend is I get to send some good stuff home. Hard to get good bourbon in CA.

If your loading stright from the field you need to handle the load entirely different than from a cooler. You have to step the temp of the load down slowly not try to get your refer to drop it quick, as it will not happen. i qould step it down in 5 degree jumps. This will cut down on the defrost since you will not be over working your refer.

I pull reefer now and run mostly at 65 so please don't lump all of us togeather. Pulled flats for 15 years than got smarter ;) I always try to park off by my self reefer running or not and can not even tell you how many times someone will pill in right next to me (reefers, flats, vans, rgns ect ect)and idle there truck when its nice out side. I'm a cheap arse and wont even run my gen set if its nice out.

OK a few days late but here goes ... 2 days ago parked my "loud" reefer in the back of a big dirt lot (2 other trucks on the torwards the front) only to wake up around 2 am to turn off the genset and wouldn't you know it there is a bull hauler about 25 feet away UP WIND of me :biggrin_2552: and now there is a grand total of 6 trucks in the lot and plenty of room down wind from me. That's it I'm finding all the flat beds I can in packed truck stops to park next to from now on :biggrin_25520:
