we pull reefer, mostly always have...try to be considerate of skatboards etc...we rarely have time to park long at a trk stop anyway (reg showers of course) but when we do, we dont intentionally scope out someone by themselves and park next to them. some of these guys do that, however not all of us are jerks...and cow trucks dont stop long either...once loaded they HAVE to roll.....and for the record...my loads are never late..

i agree with flip flops, take it however u like, there are very few of us left that were taught & raised by the much older OLD SCHOOLER'S; i take great pride in following how they did things & doing it like they did; if it meant running 3 log books so freaking be it. they were the real deal, not the $5,000 & a month later u got a CDL going out with a trainer for 6 weeks then u out on ur own that is so fake & pathetic; when i learned i got a fist upside my head, boot up my a s s & an a s s chewing that i wouldn't forget, yes, i remember then days & i'll tell u now, the drivers from 10 yrs or so ago til now wouldn't make it through what i went through to me a driver; sad to say but the trucking industry is not only not what it used to be but nothing but a bunch of college educated moron idiots who have never ever been behind the wheel to put no time in. it's pathetic

i don't care who disagree's with me but this is the cold hard truth & that just the way it WAS

You got punched when you were learning to drive? I feel bad for you. I got my cdl 15 years ago being taught by my uncle and my dad and there is no fn way I would have taken a punch from either one of them. You must have been weak to allow them to abuse you like that. That's pathetic. I bet you learned a whole lot while getting punched and tryin to learn to drive. Or you could be just making this story up. I was even in the marines for 4 years and never got abused like that either. Sounds like you got the wrong training from someone who preyed upon you cause you let it happen.

And you're proud of this? Good lords, I'm glad I have the ability to learn without having to be physically abused, lol.

WOW and I thought y'all were true CHICKENMOBILERS! But I guess i have to re-educate Y"ALL--the ONLY proper way to park at a truckstop--is to find 2 or more skateboards parked by themselves--then Blindside your spread in between them--with your reefer(preferably old carrier)running on high speed--on constant run-- Of Course--stopping when your unit is even with their bunk vents--geez!

LMAO--Hope y'all likin the new gig!

Reefers suck; depends on what you're hauling. Ice cream will run @ -20 continuous and never shut off. Banannas also run continuous at 57.5 degrees. Lettuce and greens also run on continuous 32 deg. Some loads you get away with the start stop mode. The drivers listen to the beeping sound when it's about to start, feel it shake as it begins to start and feel it shut off and the shake associated with that. I might have been that guy parked next to you; I have no way of knowing. We're all working and trying to get the same thing accomplished.

I got away from that for the simple reason that when I came back from home time; I would pick up a trailer (empty) and it was out of fuel and wouldn't start. I then had to climb up on the back of the tractor, open the doors and prime the fuel line (this is after I fueled the tank of course because someone else was too lazy). There's 45 minutes and now you're dirty. Reefer is a pain in the butt, they're loud, they shake, they beep right before they start; you're always on edge as you listen to all these sounds and never seem to get a good nights sleep. If you're hauling flowers and / or bing cherries from up state Washington, you'll get unloaded quickly. Other than that, you sit in line for hours on end waiting to be loaded and unloaded.

At the end of the day; running reefer is not all it's cracked up to be. If you have bloody chicken on there, guess what; you have to find a washout (which can sometimes be a challange) during your pretrip plan / call them ahead, make sure they're still open and can wash it out before your next load.

    Running reefer is BS.
