Brakes? Who uses those?!? Failure to properly look ahead driver.

(If they have any brakes at all they'd be electric, activated by the brake light circuit. Sometimes there's a biasing knob that adjusts how hard to hit the brakes. Either way, I doubt whatever's on those wheels is inadequate for that conex)

Where was this picture taken? Our company has a storage facility in Memphis and we loaded several just like that. I think they were taking them to Barbours Cut in Houston.

Not quite. 20s are about 6500#. 40s are about 8500# and the 53s are some where just under 11000#. I used to haul empty 20s on a rollback tow truck. It carries them just fine

    jacquesi23 and Foots Thank this.

Oops, I see autocorrect struck again. I meant to say those brakes COULD NOT handle that container. Autocorrect assumes I meant "inadequate" when I typed adequate.

EDIT: aaaaand I can't fix an old post. I guess it's stuck there forever now.

Click on the three little lines next to the time stamp at the bottom of the post. There is an edit feature. I have to use it all the time. Trucking lingo isn't uploaded by the computer manufacturers. Maybe we can get a class action lawsuit going against the computer guys? Failure to recognize our industry terminology is discrimination. I feel threatened. Yeah Yeah, I need compensation.

It's a hell of alot better than someone hauling 3-4 cars on a similar setup. I used to gross 43k with a Dodge 5500.

Few weeks back, hot shots and flats were running empty cans from SLC to Denver, as many as they could to meet demand.
