The class-action lawsuit thing is a good idea in the long run, and there's no doubt that the company leadership will see eye to eye in order to keep the laboring driver tied to the ball and chain, but a very careful and thoughtfully worded insertion might still mitigate whatever damage an "employer for a month" could have done. These companies are always needing drivers, so if the employer is persuaded the driver isn't a dummy, he might get the idea that the last company was poorly managed. That's especially true if the remarks left by the last company come off as exaggerated or irrational.![]()

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Your DAC is everything

Hey Stockton, you sound like maybe you know your stuff. Ever thought about a carreer as a driver advocate. You could probably earn some dough representing drivers with disputes etc. Am I way off? Any way, appreciate your advice.

My question is what did you do to get terminated?
Many drivers are treated wrong and then again many drivers are terminated for company policies and feel they are being miss treated.
It's the same for me, I have to follow state rules and the companies rules.
Being it is a company rule, some companies may not abide by that rule and hire you anyhow.
On the dac there is only a certain amount of things you can click, DAC choses the wording etc, then if the company wants more details they have to write/fax something to the company, however the employeer is only aloud to give a certain amount of information. It would be Federal DOT that you would need to address this with not DAC! -
Only problem is, as Roadkill noted, that's already been tried before. I wonder how much money USIS paid for that verdict?
Thankfully, some companies now are starting to ignore certain entries on DAC reports due to suspicion of being bogus. Good for them, for starting to wise up. I wish I knew which ones were starting to do that so we could post them on here. -
Yeah, I'm sure they paid someone off.
Its good that some companies are seeing through it, but it really stinks that companies can falsify information on these reports. Thats where I believe that the human resource laws need to supersede this report and kick in. Because you have legal recourse against companies reporting false information on inquiries, but not so much with the DAC.
My husband had a company try to blackball him trough bad references and false statements, and we fought it through the labor board and won. But the DAC is much different. I can't see it being as cut and dry as the Labor Board. It gives a company the latitude to say whatever they want about a person to keep them from moving on to future employment. -
I guess you didn't read the entire thread...I wasn't terminated, I quit. Are you a driver? Just curious from the nature of your post I would guess not

I can tell you that Quality Carriers does NOT use DAC (according to one of their recruiters), mostly for all the reasons listed here.
-
I was told by a recruter at lessors that dont use DAC either but they dont hire
in my area anymore. -
Have you called the company and asked them which "company policy" you were guilty of breaking. I received a call from a company I applied to and they asked me about the same thing being on my DAC. I called the issuing company and when they looked into it they told me it was a "entry error" and I had it taken care of.
I applied to Lessors and I received a letter from USIS stating that Lessors did check my DAC. So either that recruiter was lying to you, or they stopped checking DAC's in the last 3-4 weeks.
