I don't think its really the miles..as you pointed out you can do 750 on a legal e-log.
Its the hours..picking up- trucking-delivering-then reloading on other side of town and trying to get back out of the city to rest can add up to ALOT of hours total.
But to drive 6-7 or even 800miles?..No big deal to that.(my opinion)
I mean if you start out early enough you can have 750 done at be parked by 5pm for dinner.

Try doing 18-20-25 hours on duty and we will talk.

I agree, this is just kind of a pointless game I've got going. I'd like to hit 800 but traffic and other stuff...like blizzards..today won't be the day lol

The standard for coach drivers is to be paid X amount a day which pays you to drive up to X miles a day. When I started driving in the 80s I was paid $150 to drive up to 500 miles a day. Anything over 500 was called an 'overdrive' and was double pay. Anything over 700 miles was a 'double' overdrive and another days pay. The next was 800 and we weren't supposed to drive more than that a day but since we really weren't regulated we regularly drove over 1,000 miles. Every time you crossed an overdrive mark you would hear somebody say 'cha ching!" on the CB. When I quit the road in 2004 the pay was $200 a day for up to 450 miles, and overdrives were set at 600, 700, and 750. Anything from 800 and up was supposed to require a relief driver, but since at that time I was driving for an artist who owned his own bus I was still doing the long drives but being paid very well for it.
