By the question mark i"m thinking not a shape up job, yet this extra board that you brought up kinda sounds like a shape up job.

 

No, I'm asking what a shape up system is. Never heard of that before.

 

An extra board is a list of drivers that the company will call in on an as needed basis. When they have more loads than they have drivers to cover them. Is that what you wanted to know?

Yes, and thanx, that would be a kind of custom shape up, a bit surprised you guys never heard of it, when i started with the teamsters back in 88, it was a shape up job, just thought of this, ever see "On the Waterfront", classic flick with Marlon Brando, all the guys standing around hoping to get picked for work, that"s called shaping up, Shape up was the way it worked for 50+ years, and that went for most all union trades, was a carpenter from 92 on and if you were"t with a company you went to the hall and mite get sent out or not.
