I ran the Sacramento terminal, and if you are looking for a driving job, especially linehaul out of that barn, good freaking luck. There are guys with 10-15 years seniority and are still on the linehaul extraboard. They have 10 night runs, few to Kettleman City, Weed are pretty much the only places they run consistently. The extraboarders work the dock, and run overages when there is any. And a few of the dockworkers are going through their upcoming driving school early in the new year, so you will only be driving a toyota. I would not recommend my worst enemy to work there.

I know a guy who works at ABF in Sacramento that got let go at con-way. Ill ask him how it is there and let you know.

Yeah. There is no terminal openings for the driver school here in Sacramento. So I applied to the San Bernadfnasdkf whatever it is called lol. It's down south. Do they pay for you to stay in a hotel there if you do the schooling there? And then afterwards, since there is employment for a city driver here, do they transfer you to the terminal here. I mean would they?

Lots of options for you man..You have the 80 and I-5 lanes..lots of freight, lots of companies. Try Old Dominion as well..

I run out 139 (Kingman). I'm a bid now, but I used to 155 every now and then. Usually on a via out of 165 or 156.

Why is it so hard to get a bid with Conway?

Con-way per se is a regional carrier. We only pull our next day lanes. Anything over 600 miles goes on a Werner, England, CRST, Knight and all other OTR carriers in between. Werner does meet and turns with our freight as well. so less for us drivers to run. Such is business I guess

Tuesday is my last day, this place is effin hell, and I cant take anymore of the BS, even with a bid. Would have gotten bumped as a guy with more time is coming to nights and I am not going back to the extraboard. So, bon voyage con-way.
