Was it Merchant Metals? I've loaded fencing there and even with my company having trailers staged there for preloaded loads, it still took them forever.

and you need to drink water in the summer time! a crap load of it! I can go through 10 of those 3-liter waters you get at truck stops (I buy them at walmart, $1) in 4 days on hot summer days. Learn your signs and symptoms for heat exhaustion/stroke, that sun aint no joke!

isn't it illegal to ship machinery with any kind of fluids or oil in it? I know I'm always told to check any machinery I get for oil or other fluids..don't haul too much, just curious tho :)

I'll go through my list of loads (I have always wrote down everything I've hauled, in a box or on a deck), but off the top of my head my worst load would probably be the load of hay i hauled....had to gather, roll, and put tarps on top of the load 5 times because the ####### ####### son of a ##### #### wind kept blowing them off. :/

Man you guys like to work! I dont miss my flatbed past but did had an interesting flatbed load, i was given a top priority load so known as Driver of the Year, i was sent to Davenport FL to pick up four buildings made of lego toys. It was for the grand opening of Lego Land in Kissimmee FL. So i picked it up after a shop sprayed a film of clear coat. So here im strapping small buldings on a pallet made of lego toys. It was only 20 miles away and made it driving 30 mph. When i showed up, i was like the hero, docens of people came out to see the lego buildings. BUT......i'll stay with my containers. You guys can have all that work of tarping and chains all day while at the port, i just lock and unlock four corners of my chassis and at the customers, i lay in my bunk watching tv while the cust. unload. If they take more than two hours? $30.00 an hour after that! Good luck guys!

Rectangular pvc deals that they pour cement around to make drains under foundations.

They shifted a bit and kept sliding forward one piece at a time. I had to take my winch bar and a piece of carpet and keep beating them back.

And of course I had to smash my finger in the process of it. I was not a happy trucker that day.

We get detention pay usually in flatbed as well. You think that was container only or something? Detained is detained. LOL container drivers.
