I agree with your point. For a good driver video is insurance. Be a good driver. Drive like everything at work is being filmed by somebody, it might. But once you post it on the internet, you invite problems. You never know when someone, who's life mission is to stamp out failure to signal for 30 seconds before changing lanes, sees your video and tries to get his 19th driver this month fired. A milion more people can see a YT video than can possibly be in view of you while you drive. Even when your attention lapses for a moment and you just ride on top of the center line for a moment and a car honks. Once that situation is resolved and the car driver doesn't call in on you, the matter is over. Post it to YT and it's never over. Every hour is an opportunity for someone to find that video and cause you a problem from "that time 3 years ago...".

Ones that turn drivers in for being unsafe on our roads are NOT phychopath but a concerned citizen. If I seen a trk driver acting stupid you bet I'm going to turn him in,that doesn't make me a physcopath.calnca Thanks this.

Most people's lives, mine included, are not worth watching on video. Most of the trucking videos on YT are not worth watching, but that's a matter of choice. There's as much stupid and useless video on YT as there is good video. Copy machines and books did more to revolutionize the world and free people than video. The Tank Man in China was disappeared despite being videod and publicized. What's the -20 on the fascism & terrorism being defeated by internet video? Internet video is just as useful to spread those as end those.
-
Do psychopaths exist, yes or no?
-
Of course they do but not when turning ppl in for unsafe acts.I suggest you look up just what physcopaths are.
-
Psychopaths exist.
Psychopaths can watch YT video
Psychopaths don't need a reason to get mad
Psychopaths can create a mountain from a mole hill.
Posting a YT video of a driver not being perfect can inflame an already unhinged person to exaggerate the importance of an issue.
Numerous small complaints about the same truck/driver can get a driver fired.
Which one of the above statements are impossible or never accurate? If I give you the name of another person and accuse him of saying "calling in on a dangerous driver defines someone as a psychopath, will you go argue with that person instead of me?
I said:
1. Don't video yourself driving. Don't publish your dashcam video to YT. All it takes is you rolling, ever so slightly, through a right-on-red-after-stop or stop sign and you could be in trouble with your company. If not soon after you post a video, as soon as some psychopath watches your video and decides the color of your truck means you are a space alien and he calls in to your company about your "dangerous driving."
It doesn't say what you insist it means. Why do you insist I mean what I did not say? -
people are after some attention that brings them fame and fortune.
Justin Bieber was discovered on youtube as well as others. Obiviously the attention isn't the same.
Annoying orange gets attention
people like ijustine use youtube and social media for fame and fortune in a different light
annoying orange and ijustine
drivers shouldnt go after this kind of atten imo -
You know those three words on the back of trailers, hows my driving, those words arent put there for decoration.Even slowly rolling thru a stop while filming is unsafe. What I am saying in reguards to your thread and YouTube, you do not need to film this and that just to gain attention from the YouTube subscribers.I drove for 9yrs over the road and 3 yrs local,i have never been turned in by a motorist.Truck drivers need to uphold the highest level of professionalism and especially on our roads.Today's drivers lack that big time.So as a citizen sees it when they turn a driver in he was driving dangerously.calnca Thanks this.

why is urine bottles associated with trucking on social media? shouldnt even be a topic, what kind of attention does it draw in?

I don't have YT or FB. I have a vague memory of my space, I have heard of snapchat, reddit and linkedin. My only posts have barb wire stapled to them.
