    Hello,
Right now I am in the middle of processing with McLane, and I just got a call from YRC for an interview as a pick up and delivery driver. I’m stuck because I know that McLane is going to pay more money, but YRC has more positions to switch over to once I gain some seniority. Does anyone have any advice? This is going to be my first year driving and I want to make the right decision.

Plus at YRC you'll start as a casual you'll sit waiting on them to call you in to work, which can be any time day or night.
Plus it takes a while to get on full time, be prepared to get the #### senior people don't want to do.

Skip both and apply to Old Dominion, fxf or Estes. You will work funny hours at YRC

I literally applied everywhere but there are only certain terminals that offer driver training programs for new drivers. I would love to work for fed ex but I wasn’t selected for the position I applied for.

I did the interview today for Yrc, and I was offered the position. He told me I will train for 4-6 weeks with a driver trainer, and because I will be on pick up and delivery my schedule will be Monday-Friday daylight hours, which is awesome. I haven’t had a normal schedule like that in almost a decade. The only thing I don’t like is McLane pays around 70k to start but I’d have to work nights. Yrc said that first year drivers usually start around 50k. I hope I’m making the right decision. That’s a big difference in pay.
