I was contacted to be a road driver out of the Buffalo,ny terminal and was told I would avg $1000-1200wk and was told they take out 15% of the pay.So is that $1000-1200 avg after the 15%.I was also told i would make .52 mile but what i have read that is top rate and i can't see me getting paid that to start.I was told I would be working 4-6 days a week on call and it could be any day of the week.Any info would help.thanks

If they're quoting you the top pay & from what you said they're doing.. I'd be very skeptical about it all!

Also ...get everything in writing because word of mouth hearsay does nothing go you...cya.

Not sure how that is. My friend in maybrook terminal who is a road driver said he brings home between 850-1000 a week after taxes and everything. He's on the bottom pay too

Why would they take out 15%?

Yup! Your so called spineless union brothers voted for that 15%. Starting wage should be .60cpm.

Expect to find a new job after they close in a year.

Btw, your actual starting wage will be .39cpm.

Thanks. I would say that they didn't have much of a choice. YRC has been in trouble for several years mostly due to the excessively high union wages and benefits. I am still not sure that they will be able to survive. I would hate to see all those drivers lose their jobs if they do close the doors.

Not wages, but debt. Roadway was making a profit with those same wages.

Debt can kill a company, especially in this type of economy. I hope they can make it work.
