I greased my truck for the first time today and had 2 fittings that don't appear to be taking in grease... I watched a video online of a guy that took a torch and heated it... Is there any other way, or how easy are they to remove and replace with new fitting? Thanks

jamespmack and 4mer trucker Thank this.

Is it just pumping the grease out the connection or does the gun pressure up and seize? Easiest thing to do is to remove the fitting and clean out whatever is behind it and install new fitting. If that doesn't work you could try some heat depending on what it is that won't take grease.

What are you greasing making the gun seize? King pins? Front spring pins?

Napa sells a tool that you put over the fitting and hit it with a hammer, kind of the a punch type deal... Supposed to clear it up or clean out the stoppage... They want $43... Seems getting a box of fittings from harbor freight as mention above would be a lot cheaper. ..

I would keep the heat away from any steering or axle parts. Cams would probably be fine as long as you don't torch any airlines or wiring near them (or melt the bushings).

Can try and turn the steering wheel back and forth and try to grease it at different angles. Could try and chock wheels and try to grease the cam with brakes released too.

This is one of the reasons I don't care for extended service intervals. Grease hardens over time and with exposure to heat, dust etc. Can cause things not to take grease if the grease gets too hard.
