Hopefully your phase 1 trainer is from western regional. This way you can go home for some 10 hour restarts during training.

If you live in the southeastern U.S. does it have much impact on home time, or miles?

It just depends on your DM and fleet.

I noticed on their webb sites that they do have regional, and deicated running out of Alabama. How far do they want you to live from the cities listed on the regional, or dedicated?

If you live within one of the freight lanes then they might hire you into that fleet. If your recruiter promised to get you into a dedicated or regional fleet don't hold your breath.

Your phase 1 trainer might be able to help you get into contact with someone that can help with getting you into specific fleet.

I do not want to be regional, I want to be OTR, which will make more money in the long run.

I agree. if you are mostly looking for miles I would say OTR is the way to go. That is what we will stick with for now.
