    lol....

it is usually the Boy Scouts or some other organization. last year, it was some Veteran's post that did this.

some of these scale houses, are lit up, others, the volunteers take along a portable generator.

but yea,. DOT cops in Boy Scout uniforms.....lol

Try the zero7 channel on Pandora.

I’m happiest driving from 3am till 2pm. I’m worthless after 5pm. My brain just gives up at midnight, but if I wake up at 2am and pretrip I roll out at 100%.

I like Zero 7. They have a song "Don't Call It Love" , can't quite place it. I think it's a remake/cover, but they did a good job. I could swear I've heard it before, in a past life.

    It's got a 70's vibe to it.

    I run nights.

Naturally a night owl anyway, but I really prefer driving at night. Granted, there’s no way I could swap back and forth. My personal schedule - seven days a week - reflects my work schedule pretty closely.

It works for me. Kinda like @Jazz1 said, eat very little, drink water (carry a gallon with me in the truck) and crank the music.

    Alice Cooper, Slipknot...etc.

I think the Canuck's have it figured out. Any place, even on Hwy 1 coming across, any part of the highway in front of a Tim Horton's is a parking spot from 10 pm to 6 am, no worries.

First time I saw that I was pulling a load of buffalo fish from Spirit Lake, IA to Calgary, and I could use a little pick me up in the wee hours. Somewhere in the middle of SK, there's a line of trucks on the emergency lane, and I see a guy walking to the Tim Hortons. Well, when in Rome...

Fast forward ten years, and I'm with the wife in Abbottsford, BC, and I'm telling her the story, and sure as s****, a guy pulls into the turn lane on a city street, puts on the flashers and walks across traffic to the Tim Horton's. Who needs truck parking if you have a Tim Horton's exception?

Shheeewwwww I used to love running at night. I could hit open highway, not worry about some idiot trying to get in between the house half I was pulling and the guard rail. I could straddle the middle without any issues. Tell my escort just keep up. I used to plan my routes around running at night. Now because of our contracts we have to have a 24/7 on call status. So we do a week rotation. This week is mine.

I started running nights regularly about a month ago. I've always liked being out at night anyway. I do local delivery so I'm in and out of the truck alot that helps. I snack, try to drink more water than caffeine. Sleep good during the day but it's rare to get 7 hrs sleep. I like it but when I get back to the shed I'm usually a zombie

i’m doing linehaul on vampire hours now. my 9-10 hr shift falls somewhere between 830p-930a. took me a solid 1.5 years to get accustomed to it. ive been doing it 3.5 yrs now. night driving is so much easier, i’m not sure i’d go to days unless it guaranteed i’d be done by 5 pm. i’m running 2800ish miles in 45-48 hours a week. the drop and hooks break up the driving. ill eat dinner before i leave the house and snack on apples (4) for the night. drinking water (3) and 1 can of soda per night. i have no issues staying awake. i sleep 11aish-7p like clockwork during the week.

weekends i typically grab 3-4 hour naps in the morning and do normal people stuff starting around 10a. ill stay up all night sunday night into monday morning and resume as usual.

nights suck for personal life but it’s an easy way to safely cover a million miles.

edit: i’m 35, ive been driving for 10 years. i combat sleepiness with thought. sounds odd, but i’ve discovered if i get my mind going on something it will wake me up before i know it.

Agreed. Their music sets such a mood for me. It just reminds me of a time in my life 15 years ago... drinking good booze and being in clubs that play Z7, thievery Corp, groove armada etc and dancing. Before kids, before a lot of pressure and just dancing with my wife. #### she could shake it. Not twerk, but could really move to down tempo music like that. It’s funny, but we’ll have tunes on at home sometimes. She’ll be cooking and something will come on and she’ll start dancing. I fall in love all over again. My son gets out on the kitchen floor and dances with her. It’s so #### cute it almost brings me to my knees. Ya, I can listen to that type of music all frickin day and night. Now Mazzy Star is another level. Hope Sandoval just oozes pain and passion and sex. I had a huge crush on her.
