New pay scale, you start at .68 cent per mile loaded and empty. You get paid to go home and come back to your next load. Extra pay to pick up and deliver on time. No questions asked detention pay after 2 hours. Paid to get your truck serviced. As long as you do your job, pick up and deliver on time and don't ##### and cry about every load, you'll do just fine. Most loads are east of the I35 corridor. But also have loads going to Colorado, Utah and Arizona. Most of the dispatchers are great, easy to work with. They will get you home when you need to be. If you have a family emergency they will get you home immediately, no matter how that is. Empty half way across the country or put you on a plane. I've never made more money or had a better job. However...... AG Trucking has been bought by Kenan Advantage Group (KAG), just over a year ago. So far so good. Kenan benefits were definitely an improvement over the old AG benefits.

Pros

You can't ask for better people to work with. Trucks are nice. Have gotten a lot of new trailer's in service. A truly open door company. I talk to the VP on the regular basis.

Cons

Older trailer fleet, but these trailer's are not cheap. Maintenance of equipment could be better.

Been with the company 12-13 years. You can reach your potential. If you want to run 2300 or 5000 Miles a week. Truly a go with the flow company the pay and benefits are some of the best in the industry. Hard to find company's that both pay well And don't micro manage you. Anyone that gives Ag a solid shot will retire form Ag trucking.

Pros

Equipment, pay, people, pride, respect, freedom longevity based pay scale.

Cons

Drivers from big companies have trouble dealing with the lack of micro management. But once you have a Few loads under belt its a breez lots of help available just pick phone.

I am a 'system' driver living 200 miles from my home terminal so I knew going in that I would be out two weeks at a time. There was no sugar coating it. In fact, when I mentioned I lived close to a major interstate and could probably get by the house a little more often, the recruiter said probably not. No one tells you what you want to hear, just what you need to hear. But they get you home when promised and pay you the out-of-route miles when you do go home. The pay is very good for this industry and the benefits, while not the greatest, sure aren't the worse either. I am on track to make 75-80,000 dollars this, my first full calendar year. Some of the equipment is older, especially the trailer fleet, but tank trailers are very expensive so a company will run them as long as safely possible. I have never had a trailer issue on the road other than a couple tires and my tractor went down one time due to the DEF system sensor- and I have had a truck with less than 25,000 miles go down for that.

Pros

Good mileage pay (50 cpm to start), 98% drop and hook for a clean trailer for next load, $20 an hour for detention after 2 hours and the same for breakdown pay, steady work- no sitting (and if you do end up sitting there's $100 for hold-over pay)

Cons

Not much here. Some older trailers and you'll start in an older (3-4 yr. old truck). I started 1 1/2 years ago and will be in line for a new truck in the spring of 2018. If you do have to use a spare truck while yours gets worked on it will not be the best but at least you can keep working.

Tanker Company. Food grade. The starting pay is .50 mile loaded or empty. Average pay has been $1,175, after deductions and medical deductions. Home time is 2 days every 2 weeks. They pay you to go home/@ .50 mile. Most dispatchers very helpful and on the ball. Overall one of the best companies I have worked for.

Pros

Excellent pay and try to keep their drivers happy.

Cons

Dash cams, one faces road, the other the driver. You get used to it after awhile.
