DO NOT WORK FOR ARKA EXPRESS/AMBER EXPRESS/BULLPEN EXPRESS!!! I am a former NDC Driver Captain for Division 12 Northeast Regional and Division 12 Atlanta Local. Just 4 months shy of 4 years with the company. I was an NDC Driver Captain for all of that minus 6 to 7 months of it, which 2 1/2 months I worked in the office as the Driver Experience Coordinator and Orientation Coordinator at the Southeast Terminal based out of Fairburn, GA. The Operations team in the SE do not care about the drivers. The Dispatchers (aka Driver Managers) and the Planners are trained and instructed to not be "work friendly" with the drivers. They are trained to push drivers to their limits which includes violating HOS regulations. If you comply you are in trouble and issued "write-ups". If you don't comply then you are threatened with write-ups which you are allowed 2 write-ups. On the third write-up you are terminated. The overwork and underpay drivers. The hardworking drivers make the same as the lazy and worthless drivers. If you are asked to do something, take screenshots of the conversation or record the phone calls! The dispatchers will lie so they do not get into trouble. If you are promised something, even if you get it in writing, you will NOT get what was promised because they will not live up to their promises. They often take the top, best, loads away from the American drivers and give them to their Ukrainian kin drivers, but when confronted about this they always deny. As a Driver Captain, I had another Captain approach me because he was told by a Ukrainian driver that worked for us that the office in Markham, IL (Chicago area) told him not to associate with "those black people". When I was in the office I had morals to always do the right thing regardless if it was the drivers fault or the companies fault. I often was reprimanded because I was to always enforce that "the company is never at fault". Which cause me to "create waves" in the Ukrainian minds. I heard through the grapevine, from an unnamed office employee, that the Ukrainian office people think Americans are stupid and foolish. If anything is mentioned about pay raises, the ownership response is that Americans are foolish and should be thankful for what they already get. If more money is desired then get another source of income. Ownership said in a NDC Summit Conference that they wanted ideas of how to advertise to drivers that they don't want to be associated with the "Chicago" trucking company tags... that trucking companies based out of Chicago are typical Russian owned companies. That wasn't true until the trucking recession when Arka's truest origin colors became more and more prevalent! Do not work for this company!!
