Low miles=low pay. The most I made with this company was $900. Not even enough to make rent, another driver was disrespectful to me when I was trying to help him, then proceeded to start taking pictures of me and my wife, which I did not appreciate. Had to give him the 1 finger salute. Finally, they paid me my last check, then took it right back out of my account, which is illegal.

Cheated us out of $500 performance bonus, tried to contact Randy (ops manager) ignored my calls then blocked his email. They are very unprofessional and petty

I worked for Beacon for over 9 years, and if I hadn’t moved out of their hiring range, I would be there still. Great place, family atmosphere, no micro-management if you just do your job. Consistent, accurate paychecks. Not great, but decent benefits. Decent miles. Shop took care of issues quickly so you could keep running. I was not someone who looked for a lot of home time, but when I needed some, they made sure I was in as scheduled.

Pros

Family atmosphere, with independence to do the job my way as long as it was done safely and on time. I loved my fleet managers, and was always respected by upper management whenever I had comments or concerns.

Cons

They keep improving the pay, which is great. Might add vision to the insurance (so important for drivers). 401(k) not a guaranteed match, but they contributed at least 3% every year I participated...also, is 100% vested from year one, so is actually a good deal (small con, bigger pro).
