Three weeks after a DOT inspection 800 miles from home and three days before thanksgiving they refused to dispatch me. Until they received a phone call from the officer that did the inspection. I was able to get a message to the officer about the situation and he called in to speak to them. He was transferred to three different people in charge of the situation and they hung up on him. Then wanted me to get him to call in again in order to be dispatched.

Pros

Ability to find and book your own freight

Besl transfer is owned by CRST, I was leased on to them and wish I had never stepped foot in their door, their loads are cheap cause crst is taking over more every day and pushing besl transfer out of business, and 90% of the loads are 47k to 49k lbs and if you cant handle that then you are at the mercy of broker loads. Plus if you live south , good luck with getting a good load cause they are mainly a mid- west hauling company. If you break down well your on you own , and when you leave , you wont get your money for 45 days and they make excuses not to pay you back a penny, their safety rating is extremely bad so plan on being pulled in and inspected by DOT.

Pros

Paid after each load

Cons

Everything since crst is taking over

Dont get hooked by the lease purchase program The truck are CRST hand me downs Payment are $395 / week plus a non reimburse .15c/ mile maintenance fee Overall your looking at $600 / week for insurance. Plates. Ect. Not counting the maintaince fee per mile. Which can total up to $800 + a week , Which they get their money first Overall saying you wont make any money and Besl is owned by CRST

Pros

Good company if you have your own equipment live within the ohio and Indiana area

Cons

Pay is 74% not 75.5%, very bad safety ratings so plan on getting pulled in at scale house , out of 100% been the worst Besl is at 95% And 90% of their loads are 46k to 48k lbs and if you can't handle that then getting good loads is hard. CRST is pushing BESL TRANSFER out of business. Dont have a major breakdown cause they wont help out, your on you own

I've been around steel all my life, been with 4 companies prior and i must say the BESL Teem is the best company I've worked for hands down.

Pros

Home every night, no weekends, days off are very flexible , and great pay rates

Cons

Not enough bonuses for for passing DOT inspections like a level 1 should be $75, Level 2 $150, and Level 3 should be $250 for our effort on upkeep of our equipment, we speend thousands to keep our rigs up

Great company. Always upfront on every level. Only left because of health reasons or I'd still be there. Dispatch and upper management door always open.

Besl Transfer sold to CRST need info please

Q: Besl Transfer has been sold to Crst . Any information from current o/o of any changes. I would hope nothing would change but I believe Crst will be the ruin of a once good company. Was thinking of a lease but I shall wait for awhile to see if anything changes.

A: The only things that have changed are for the better. Now have a tire program, parts program, and are getting ready to roll out a Medical insurance program.

Any info on Besl Transfer co

I have a friend who has been leased to them for over 26 years. He loves them. You don't survive that long in trucking without being a pretty good company.
