I drive for this company now. Started here after moving to GA well moved back to NC these people been hounding me about getting my NC class A. You would think that I will get them in my spare time. The home time is horrible. I don't get home on time on Friday. They want you to do too much for to little pay. They lie about the pay the trucks are junk

Too much politics. Play favorites. Horrible female dispatcher. Work over HOS. Never go back. Make you break all state, federal laws.

Dispatchers are like everywhere else... sweet talk ya when they need something and give you help when you say no. Manager tries to work with you and your needs but lacks a backbone when it comes to standing up for you.

Coastal Transport Houston

Coastal doesn't seem to pay as much as the others, at least in CC. I have heard that the trucks are not well maintained, but don't know for sure. They sure do look nice. There's a purple and silver one in CC that I just love.

I would like to try one of those Volvo automatics. I gotta feeling that automatic transmissions were made for tank hauling. Every veteran tank driver I have talked to (3) that has switched to an auto loves them. Just fire her up, set the cruise control, and go!

Coastal buys from the same racks that I buy from, so I'll try and get some information from the drivers I see there.

I interviewed with them, said they pay .80 for loaded miles and hourly when not loaded. Said drivers make anywhere from 1800-2800 every two weeks. Sounds like a good company starting out. Hope this helps you out.
