48 hour Ex-Employee Review – ContainerPort Group
When I started at the end of November , I was genuinely excited about the opportunity. In the beginning, I enjoyed the job and showed my dedication by working through holidays and most weekends over several months.
However, over time, my experience changed. The main reason I decided to leave was the unfair distribution of loads. It often felt like one driver would receive the majority of the loads while others on the same route were left with very little or none at all. This directly impacted my income, which steadily decreased over the last couple of months.
I also found it difficult to address concerns because management did not seem to be neutral or supportive when it came to issues with dispatch. Instead of resolving problems, there was a pattern of blame being shifted onto drivers—even in situations where dispatch or management made the errors, such as with load assignments or mismatched pins. As drivers, we are not responsible for dispatch decisions, yet we were often held accountable for those mistakes.
At times, it also felt like narratives were created about me that did not reflect my work or professionalism. Rather than addressing issues fairly, situations were sometimes framed in a way that made it seem like I was the problem, which created unnecessary stress and made it difficult to feel respected or heard.
The work environment also became challenging due to ongoing tension, lack of communication, and what felt like favoritism instead of fairness. Personal matters appeared to influence professional decisions, which affected how loads were distributed and how employees were treated.
On a positive note, I did receive support from the safety team and from Sabrina, who were helpful when I had questions or needed assistance. I appreciated their willingness to listen and provide guidance.
Overall, I don’t believe this is a bad company, but there are clear areas that need improvement. There needs to be more fairness, accountability, and professionalism across management and dispatch. I strongly believe a third-party or neutral oversight system would help address employee concerns properly and prevent issues from being overlooked or pushed onto drivers. Addressing problems directly and ensuring equal treatment would improve morale and help retain drivers.
Ultimately, I chose to leave due to unfair treatment in load distribution, lack of accountability from dispatch and management, and not feeling valued as an employee.
Pros
Safety is upfront and very helpful
Cons
The Container Port of Jacksonville, Florida, urgently needs significant improvements. Collaborating with their drivers is a crucial aspect of their job, not just with those they personally get along with, but with all the drivers they work with. They must be open to working with everyone, not against them for the convenience of other drivers. The workload should be distributed equally among all the drivers, not just a few.

I’m out of New Orleans. The local terminal itself isn’t bad because the people are cool. It’s the corporate entity that’s ruining this company. I mean constant pay cuts, strict safety department, deductions out the yin yang, lie after lie!! Over here you’re on a prorated pay scale. You don’t get mileage until after 301 miles one way. And the mileage is pay might be the lowest in the industry! Don’t believe NOTHING you read in those ads by CPG! It’s all lies!! The log tablet is so stripped down that you don’t have personal conveyance, adverse weather, or any other thing that’s beneficial to the driver. Over here you’re basically a company driver who can call off whenever. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!! I’m out of here on the first train smoking!!
Pros
The people at the local terminal is cool and understanding
Cons
Horrible pay, crappy corporate practices, and NOTHING that benefits the DRIVERS!!

I’ve quit CPG because they’re unprofessional, liars, and full of drama. I hope they get their act together. The company can’t function and won’t thrive without respecting their drivers. Driver is the reason they get a check.
