If you are thinking of this company... RUN! RUN! RUN! If you want safety and a company that cares, this isn't it. I was injured several times on the job and NOTHING was done to fix what caused those injuries. I was given miles so low, my last check was (literally) for a penny. This is a TERRIBLE company that can't be trusted or depended on for bills to be paid.

The listing of the job is right in plain sight. You will be handling freight in different weather conditions thus includes the heat and cold in winter .. Basically you have to have common sense dress and prepare for the weather this includes having food and drink that is needed .
Pros
Great trucks
Nice mileage
Company vehicles- don't have to pay for fuel or a lease
Cons
Not alot of space for trailers to be repaired..
Waiting in line is a pain
The lounge could use a upgrade

I thank Dollar General for the opportunity they gave me. They hired me without experience. I worked for 3 years at Fresh San Antonio. I never had any problems. I left for family reasons, but it is a very good company. The only hard part of the job is that you have to unload the truck, but you get used to it.

To make money in DG u have to be living in the parking lot be active and ready so actually there's no rest at all. If u do right no one notice it,if u do wrong everyone notice it????. I keeped my issued truck nice and clean breakdowns I only had around 3 that needed road assistance cause mostly I had 2 do my own repairs that where not to complicated so I can keep on moving cause that's the only way to make money. I worked in DG for 1year and a half I loved what I did there till the shouting started to come my way dispatchers using there power trip and forcing drivers to do what they think is appropriate to them and yes dispatchers mostly all of them are not truck drivers!!I tap out when shouting and there power trip started coming my way. And when u don't do what they want u will get small loads as a punishment!! And yes the job u perform there is physically demanding on both sides dry and fresh!!I was hired as OTR and along the way u do regional and local!!
