If you have the option of going to work for somebody else I would suggest going to work for somebody else take that from a current driver, the equipment in the West Burlington Yard sucks their pay is never what they promise, they're communication skill needs a lot to improve, we have no terminal manager we are being managed by a cell phone salesman that is a regional manager and he should go back to selling cell phones...

Pros

The home time is not bad

Cons

I was never paid what I was promised, they need to improve their maintenance on the equipment, they really need to improve the communication, and they need to get a terminal manager for the West Burlington terminal

Terrible communication. Unprofessional and disrespectful dispatch. Very poor equipment. No home time. Drivers will not be able plan or expect any kind of routine. Drivers personal life has NO value to foodliner. Forced dispatch.

Pros

No pros that are worth mentioning

Cons

Get ready to be used and abused. Foodliner does not care about the high turnover.

Words straight from management “keep a driver hungry but fed just enough that he doesn’t quit” they do not care about their drivers.

Pros

Home every night

Cons

Trucks are detuned and governed at 65 poorly maintained and the company likes to play money games with your checks and bonuses

Worked for this company for a long time. I actually quit and came back, then quit again. Because I used to like the company. Guess I have to separate that from management. The management are liars and users. So the management makes it not worth working for. And the dispatcher doesn't treat you with respect, you are just there to help get their bonus. They are always desperately hiring, but the management isn't smart enough to figure out why they loose drivers. And the upper management wont look at the possibility of a bad dispatcher causing drivers to quit. The thought wont ever cross their minds. I quit over a dispatcher who cheated me over vacation, changed a load without telling me, lied every chance she got, used me and never gave me home time, really only a 34 that kept changing my sleep time nights and days sucked. No family life. And when I quit, they withheld my last quarterly bonus after I already worked for it, quitting the very last day of 2020. They keep buying new trucks, but never want to do maintenance, so dont be fooled by the newer trucks when you see it. This company is dirty with the tricks they play. Dont jump in with them.

Pros

None

Cons

Dont have a family. Or have any desires in life. Just stay single, and slave for them. They lie, screw you over, treat you like a machine. No life. Just wake you up, drive for them, lay you down, try to sleep wake up and oh we are changing you sleep cycle constantly. Deliver the loads and be a good drone.

If you miss one day of work it will cost you your guarantee...which is almost $1,000. The company doesn't care how long you've worked for them.

Pros

Home everyday

Cons

The company will take your guarantee if you miss one day. Forget you have a family to take care of. They take almost $1,000 from you

Which is better job

A: Idk bout the work, but I see Foodliner guys at Kraft everyday....don't seem like a very pleasant bunch

A: Have a few dedicated Foodliner guys I see at a location I drop all the time. They are ALWAYS broken down....literally. I'm talking I see the same few guys broke down 2-3 times a week. I'd say good choice on QC.

A: Foodliner has under powered junk for trucks.

Q: How's their hometime? I spoke to Kathy out of the Newark DE Terminal. She told i had to be out 3 to 4 nights a week. I dont mind as long as the money is good and i could a 34 at the house..

A:  Yeah I know Kathy and Doug the terminal manager.
They tell you out right that YOU are going to sleep in the truck..after all it has a sleeper.
Doug likes to get his drivers home for the weekend so you should be fine.
Just remember stuff happens and you may get stuck out.
Money wise it's up to you.
I ran Canada and that made a HUGE difference in my check.
They aren't a bad outfit..not perfect but what company is?

Which company do you recommend me in NJ

I did very well at Foodliner.
Ran a ton of Canada..I was the only guy at my terminal who would every week.
Averaged $1500-1800 in 5 days..$150 border crossing each time.
Home every weekend in order to do my 36 hour reset(Canadian rules).
Ran out of the port of Newark NJ and Blommer Chocolate in PA.

They're a pretty good company..I'd still be there but there was some kind of dispatcher fight and the Canada freight dried up..so I moved on.

You have to have 1 year experience before they will hire you..no tanker experience is ok.
