Do not waste your time coming to this company, they will opening lie to your face, once you call them on the lie they still try to justify the lie. As a team you will be lucky if you get 3500 miles, currently planning to exit...smh
Cons
To many to list, they need a completely new staff in the dispatch area.

I am currently a team driver. I purchased my truck thru TEL so the truck maintenance is on me and my truck stays in top shape. The trailers here are hit and miss. Most drivers don’t seem to let the shop know when there’s issues with them so they are the drivers problem. There’s also only a handful of mechanics that do proper inspections on the trailers when coming into DFW or CMH.
Dispatchers are another hit or miss. You can tell they don’t get paid commissions on loads since they obviously don’t care if drivers work or sit. We hired on being told by recruiting that it’s easy to run 4600 miles here. Lie. We make average 3600 a week in 2025. We sit most days since 92% of loads leave out after midnight. Yes sometimes they have you use recap hours but not that often and it’s up to you if you choose too. Most of the time when you call in if you’re lucky enough to reach a dispatcher you’ll hear there’s nothing for you to do. There’s too many trucks ahead of you. Or check back after so long and see if there’s anything added.
There’s a lot of terminals and a lot of them do have showers which is nice to have the access to.
They wont bother you on home time but getting it is a different story. Rarely do they get you home on time. Most cases it’s a week before or a day or two late.
Pay is going down yearly. This year we went to 1.55 loaded and 1.28 empty per mile lost 3 cents
Also I’m otr, we’ve been trying for years to grab a dedicated lane with no luck if it doesn’t happen soon we may have to try another company.
When we first started here this company was driver focused. It was fun and the loads were aplenty and home time wasn’t an issue. Since the merger with Omni it seems a lot has gone down hill. Now with the new ceo who nobody sees or knows if he’s even real since he’s never at the office in Ohio is making some bad decisions regarding the company. If the company sells everyone knows the disaster that will be forward.
Pros
Showers and if you’re a dedicated driver you have it made. L & P and safety have great people in departments
Cons
Dispatchers incompetence, lack of communication between everyone especially in office. Pay dropping every year, not enough freight and yet still hiring drivers

I am solo company driver in the LineHaul division of Forward Air working under a contractor. My contractor is amazing, and if they were a carrier, it would be the place where I retire, but it isn’t so let’s get right into it.
IF YOU ARE A SOLO DRIVER AT FORWARD AIR, YOU WILL STRUGGLE TO MAKE ENDS MEET.
When I started in January of this year, it was great. I could get 3000-4000 miles a week no problem. After the OMNI merger, things went downhill.
I can only tell you my experience as a solo driver at this company. Be prepared to sit for hours. Like…A LOT OF HOURS. I’ve been stationary for 50 hours on a few occasions. You can call dispatch and it’ll go to voicemail. You’ll leave a callback and no one will respond back for hours. By the time someone responds, the day is practically over and all the freight is gone. They only pay you $200 for layover.
The only trailers they have are swing door and roll-up door 53’ dry vans. Some are equipped with rollerbeds. The equipment is old and worn out. You will come across bald/flat tires, thin brake shoes, broken lights, etc. Sometimes the new trailers are in worse condition than the older trailers.
Dispatch is hit or miss. There are a few exceptions, of course, but most are incompetent, don’t plan ahead, and don’t factor in your DOT HOS. When something happens that’s out of your control, they blame the driver.
Teams may or may not have a better chance at success here, but you better make sure that you REALLY like your teammate, because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter whether you’re solo or a team; you’re going to be sitting for AT LEAST 14 hrs before your next load. There’s no communication as to how long you’ll be sitting. As I’m writing this, this is Day 2 at HQ and I still don’t have a load. At least I have that $200 layover pay to look forward to…
My personal advice? Look elsewhere. Forward Air is not the gold mine that it used to be.
Pros
-Overall pretty nice people that work in the shipping offices and many of the dispatchers are pleasant people regardless of their effectiveness as dispatchers.
-Most of the freight is dispatched overnight, so you’re less likely to run into traffic.
-It is nice to be able to park at a terminal rather than fight for a parking spot at a truck stop.
-Some terminals do have driver amenities like showers, laundry rooms, vending machines, Wi-Fi, and a driver’s lounge.
Cons
-THE WAITING. IT SUCKS.
-The work culture is pretty cutthroat. It is a rat race as most LineHaul drivers are in a hurry to be the first on queue at the next terminal. The O/O’s that have ungoverned tractors will most likely be first in and first out.
-Some of the terminals are really small and not made for 53’ trailers or full-sized tractors.
-The contractor can’t help you if Forward Air screws you over.

When I first started here I absolutely Loved it. Their trucks which are leased by Ryder are horrible, whether it’s old or new. Ryder is too lazy to maintain them properly. My first older truck broke down 8 times, my newer truck 3. When it comes to being reimbursed for hotels, Ubers, what have you, this company is great. Home time fabulous. What I can’t stand is you can sit anywhere from 13 hours to 18, 30 ect. They don’t believe in resets. This company will run you on recaps forever. You have to do your grocery shopping, laundry ect on your 10. Now when you’re down, they don’t tell you how long so you can get all of this done. Communication people. All company drivers are paid salaried. Which is great because checks are consistent. But running recaps should be my choice not theirs. They bleed your hours
Pros
Salaried, time off, Flex Time, home time
Cons
Mandatory recaps, truck breakdowns, disgusting showers, except one terminal, most terminals have none

I leased into Forward Air in Jan 2025,I don’t have to call them ever, but I am embarrassed to be a truck driver because I’ll get a load and wait 30 hrs for another,or 72 hrs so you sit and sit,I was told in orientation we have more freight then trucks, lie,,all terminals have driver showers, lie, all terminals have a gated area for your vehicle, lie,my first check was $5.22 I don’t understand how O/O do it here,a 16 yr old at McDonald’s makes more then me,I’m so ashamed to be here, yes they go from terminal to terminal but the load states “this will take you 10.5 hrs to do,yes they will give a service failure regardless of the situation, weather, accident, road closures it seems to be all your fault.forward air is designed for rookie drivers to get to know the trucking industry, and your only going to make $1.32 per mile and this is Feb 2025! I’m stating facts, you do what you want, and safety will tell you “drive the posted speed limit” “yeah but I own the truck”I’m done at this no good so called company.
Pros
Home time, will get a trailer fixed in a heartbeat
Cons
Load planners have no idea what they are doing, you are a nobody,
